We have spent more than 25 years designing and delivering complex business solutions across challenging environments. Over that time, we learned that solving immediate problems is not enough — lasting improvement comes from understanding why those problems occur in the first place.

In 2021, we stopped to ask that question more directly. We developed and implemented a root cause analysis practice for a major Australian bank, helping examine and remediate some of its most persistent problems and project failures.

Cause-X is the culmination of that experience — bringing together deep practical expertise, structured analysis, and a commitment to helping organisations build stronger performance and more mature risk cultures.

Alex Kyrikos

    Alex founded Cause-X to help organisations develop the performance and mature risk culture they aspire to. He is passionate about transformation, leveraging his deep experience successfully originating and delivering strategic solutions for complex business and regulatory matters.

  • He has been a senior financial services executive, consultant, and project manager with over 25 years' experience in both business (1st line) and risk oversight (2nd line) functions, across banking, insurance, and wealth management. He is also a former practicing lawyer by background.

    As an agent of transformative change, he has a wealth of interdisciplinary skills and knowledge at his disposal. As a leader and mentor, he utilizes his influencing skills to motivate, engage and develop his teams and peers.

    He partners with customers, executive management, governance committees, boards, advisors and regulatory stakeholders, in often demanding business circumstances to make it happen. Always curious, energetic and entrepreneurial he thrives when presented with challenging problems.

    Robert is passionate about fixing complex problems in organisations. He thrives on diagnosing the drivers and the reasons for these problems and then more importantly developing and implementing appropriate, innovative solutions to make the organisation successful.


  • Robert has been an executive senior leader of business programs and change initiatives with deep expertise in banking and financial services with over 30 years professional experience working across Banking, Financial Markets/Treasury, Wealth Management, Superannuation, Insurance, Government and Industry.

    He is experienced across a range of domains and has held senior line and consulting roles in business transformation, risk and regulatory management, productivity improvement, product innovation and delivery, data and business process efficiency, and business/system integration projects.

    Robert has shaped culture and transformed organisations and his knowledge is rooted in applying outcomes focused thinking to then design solutions for organisations so that they have a competitive edge in product delight and service provision to their customers.

    Robert is experienced and comfortable working with C-suite level executives as well energised by speaking with the "do-ers" in an organisation. He is a frequent coach and mentor to his clients and teams, long after his engagement has completed.
